It was snowing in London on Sunday! And then the next day, I was on a plane to Doha, Qatar to do the entrance exam for Doha College. My flight on Qatar Airways flight 6 was at 10.50am so I woke up at 6am, ate breakfast and set off to train station at 7.25am. Me and my mum went on the 7.40am train and arrived just before 8am at Heathrow Airport Terminal 3. We went to check-in, sat down somewhere to wait for the gate to open (I was on the phone with Twishy- lol and after that reading Twilight to pass the time). Soon the gate opened and we went in to wait and saw Jennifer's family waiting as well, cos they were also going to Doha with the same reasons as me. Uncle Hii was going to Doha on business.
Me and my mum got some horrible seats in the middle aisle. Seats 36F & G. Ugh. At least it was an aisle seat. No windows. The food was actually quite nice. Except I never eat the bread they give. I hate it!!
I watched I am Legend again, and listened to some music while reading.

When we arrived at around 6pm, we got into the bus (in Doha they don't have those tunnel-y things that you walk through to go into Arrivals..haha tunnel-y things! we had to go down using these car-stairs and then into the bus). After we got off the bus and into the Arrivals terminal, there was a lady there waiting for us, holding a sign with me and my mum's names. She led us to this waiting area, while she did our visas. I wasn't quite sure what she was doing. I just knew she was putting something to make us allowed into the country. After that she brought us to the baggage reclaim. She could speak Mandarin as well, so she could communicate with us properly. After that we went into the area where you see tonnes of people waiting for their families or friends. We looked for Four Seasons people and they led us to the car. It was a Mercedes! Woohoo!! I want that type of car. No actually there's this sports car that is really cool..Aston Martin V12 Vanquish! Ok I'm straying away from the subject.

The Four Seasons hotel is really nice. About 20 mins drive from the airport. The hotel is really pretty on the inside and so posh! haha..we checked in and got a room number at 1628! On the 16th floor! That was cool.....This picture was take on the last day, but from the view at the back of the hotel. I didn't take any of the front.

They have 17 floors all together so we're assuming that the one below that is ours. I knew the windows in our room were shaped like that, and I knew how the view was so I'm 90% certain that's our room.

This is the bedroom! My bed is the one with the black jacket sprawled across it... The TV had Internet, but it was really hard to online because there was no proper mouse, you had to use this knob thing that you push to move the mouse around. So I only checked emails.

This is a 5 star hotel!!! And so of course, the food have to be really excellent. On Tuesday, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Nowhere else to eat. I had spring rolls and kebbeh for lunch, with ice lemon drink.

Heheh...the spring rolls were already gone by then.

Dinner was really really nice!!!! Prawns and fish, with rosemary baked potatoes and vegetables at the side. Delicious!!! I also had Pepsi. Yum!

Food over. Now time for events. After we reached the hotel room, I took a bath..and it was interrupted when we had to go down to dinner with Uncle Hii and Uncle Jerry's family. There was no talk on the kids table at all. So quiet! By the time we got upstairs, it was already around 9-10pm..i think. So I tried out the Internet and went to sleep at 11.30pm. I woke up at 2am, needing water. So dry! and hot. I couldn't get to sleep till 2.30am. It was hot! My mum said I slept-talked! AHHH!

I woke up at 6am, got ready and went to breakfast at 6.30am. Ate, went up to the room and then waited outside for the driver to take us to Doha College at 7.30am. Reached Doha College at 8am. Waited for half an hour and the test started at 8.30am. Technically, 8.45am. The lady was explaining things to us and we had to fill in information. There was another boy who was trying for Year 9 as well. The rest were trying for Year 7 & 8, including Jennifer. The test lasted to 11am, with breaks in between. Quiet breaks. Those people were way too shy to talk. Only me and that boy called Mark talked. A bit.
After the test ended, we went back to the hotel. Had that lunch, and then went back up to room. I read Twilight to pass the time.. while mum took a nap. At 2.30pm we went downstairs to go on the tour of Doha. A lady called Karen brought us around the city. Here are some pics:

After that I quit taking pictures cos I was tired. Soon I fell asleep and when I woke up we were at the hotel already! It was 5pm so we went back up to the room and lazed around. We went down and had dinner at around 7pm (refer to dinner food above!!).

Wednesday morning

It was the same routine, except this time we went to the Nine Pearls compound to see the housing where we might live in August. We saw a house that was type C, with 4 bedrooms. We were planning to see all three types A B and C, but we had to go to Park House English School to submit my latest report at 9am.
When we got to the school, the Head of Secondary viewed my report, and she said I didn't need to do a entrance exam, that I could enter if I wanted to. She interviewed me, I'm guessing to see my social skills? And then after that we had some extra time, so we asked for a tour around the school, and we met the same guy from Doha College! Mark and his mum was there as well, and his dad was also here for the same reason as my dad. So same tour and then after that we had to leave. Off back to the housing, to House no. 24 Whale Street. (haha! there's whale street, elephant street, fish street, boar street, cloud street etc..weird eh?) This was Aunty Mary's house!

The whole day just passed, mostly in silence for me. I didn't understand Hokkien anyway so I couldn't really join in the conversations. We had lunch at the house, eatingg takeaway KFC. Dinner was at a Thai restaurant. After that, Uncle Fung sent us back to the hotel, and off to sleep!

Thursday morning

Same routine, but later, at around 8am. We went to the airport at 10.30am, checked in, waited and boarded plane. This time the seats were WORSE! We sat in the middle of the aisle, wedged in between two strangers! AHHHHHHH! And the man sitting next to me was annoying! Kept trying to talk to me. Out of boredom I guess, but who told him that he couldn't watch a movie on his personal TV? So weird.
I watched The Golden Compass.

After that, took train and got home. Sleep sleep sleep....

Overall I really liked Doha, and I'm quite excited to go back there! I have no idea why I like the deserty area and the hot weather: i just like it. It's good, cos I have to get used to it soon!

I went to Legoland Windsor on Tuesday with Aunty Anneeza's family. Mostly I went around the park with her two eldest daughters, Soeffiah and Sabreenna, aged 9 and 11. We went on most of the rides, and all of us agreed that The Dragon was the best! I didn't have a pic of this, so I went on the internet for one. Googled it.

REALLY FUN! We couldn't go on the ride more than twice, because the line was way too long. We waited nearly 45 mins for the first one, then the second one we waited 30 mins. Another one, we enjoyed a lot, and we went on it 4 times!! It's called Pirate Falls, and I bought a picture of us on it. The picture was the second time we went on it. The first picture blocked someone's face. The line for this wasn't long, but it was fun.

I didn't take a lot of pictures at the park, because I was busy riding stuff. LOL. I got a pic of the first ride, called Longboat Invader. It looked really mild. I was starting to think that it was a lame ride, before I went on it. But when i got on it, I was like, "Hey, this is kinda fun!" haha!

And the final ride that I have a picture of: Jungle Coaster. This was the most scary, in a way. Really high and you keep looking down. Eeek!

It's high!! AHHH It was scary. Lots of bumps when turning, which made it a lot scarier. Looking down! Fun, but not The Dragon-fun!

Well, I definitely enjoyed that trip!

I am sooo satisfied that I have finished writing up my Youth Speaks speech, but it is not approved by the teacher yet. I did not write up one of the paragraphed framework that he gave me, because I thought that it would be too long and in the rulebook it says if you go over the time (5 minutes), it will take marks off. And I didn't know what he meant by the 'sentencing and re-education' anyway. But I'm really happy now!!!!!!!!

Today we went to London Dungeons! It was really fun, especially the Drop ride at the end!! But most of the stuff was the same to Edinburgh Dungeons, except the boat ride was better at London, and at London they have Extremis! (Drop ride) It was really fun; 6 of us: Me, Sherp, Jas, Lynn Wei, Koko, D Koko (Danny) :P!! All pix on other comp. :(

I have school tomorrow, and then on Wednesday we have Swimming Gala! I'm doing the Backstroke Medley race for Year 7 & 8 Norris House team! And then the rest in year groups I am going to be racing in the A group for all three Frontcrawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke. I suck at breaststroke, and I have no idea why I'm in A group. Just to get me humiliated by being last. It's a hard stroke to be fast at. I am quite fast at both Frontcrawl and Backstroke, but Sonam and maybe Georgia is faster than me at Frontcrawl. At Backstroke I'm faster unless Sonam let me win the race the other day.....

There's a movie poster that I saw a lot today when walking through the train stations: Juno. It's a movie about a teenage girl getting pregnant etc. Sounds interesting, and I wanna watch it when it comes out on Feb 8th! It's holidays starting on that day! Thursday is our last day. And then I'll have my Youth Speaks competition on Feb 13th! AHHHHH!!

Got quite an awful lot of English homework, but not gonna complete them now. I need to do some geography research on Bulgaria since that's what Shauna and I are doing for our EU country tomorrow for a poster.

Woohoooooooooooo exams are over!!!! Now I can relax. Well not exactly. I still have the dreaded results coming back during the next few weeks. But I need to soak up all this spare time just in case I get grounded which i hope does not happen.

So first, what have I not blogged about in the holidays? Well, the thing is I don't have the pictures. They are only on Jas and Sherp's laptops. So view the pix there. But the things I've done in the holiday were re-visiting The Science Museum and The Natural History Museum. We rode on the SimEx ride, MotionRide Sim, IMAX cinema. It was all good fun! We came back at something like 6pm+ i think. And then after that we went to the Empire cinema! To watch a R15 movie. I got passed off as a 15-year-old :P!!!!!! I am Legend is definitely good. I rate 4.5 stars. It's actually a movie adapted from a book by Richard Matheson. The cover looks scary at the Wikipedia search...published quite long time ago: 1954! I have to say though, reading the sypnosis of the book, it's actually different to the movie. Slightly. The movie is a horror one, and is quite scary I would say. Not good for teratophobic people. I think that is the phobia for monster phobia? This movie is more to the zombie side. I just label them monster. Sort of.

Scary huh! The bridge is broken! :P

I started watching a new anime in the holidays called Love Hina. I was really bored and was just searching for something new to watch...

OKAY! Bored, so I'm going off to create my new anime blog. Dunno what it's called yet so I'll just put the link in here for those who are interested to look at it.

Sorry everyone..kinda on hiatus..laziness! I know I should really blog about my trips with the Wongs, but everyone's been doing that, so you'll be seeing the same thing really. Just go to Jas, Sherp, Lynna, Lynthia 's blogs and you'll see some pics of the trips! I know it's holidays, and i should really be blogging, but i'm really lazy and don't know wat to blog about. Besides the trips but i gave a reason why i wasn't blogging about that......

SIMS 2!!!! Thanks to Osby! I can play it now, but only sometimes, as it is installed on Sherp's laptop. It didn't work because of some graphic problems... :( It's really fun!!!!

Neopets is not visited by me as often as usual these days. Yes to those people who know me well, will gasp by that sentence. I used to be a Neopets addict. But it doesn't mean i don't go on it. I'm just usually busy with manga and fanfiction and facebook and bebo. but not really with that much with the last two.

I'm scared for exams! I've got 3 weeks holidays, but I will focus my studies on 2 weeks only. Not due to laziness this time. It's because I really want all my notes fresh in my memory so I gotta revise closer to the time. Especially music. I've got 4 pages of notes I want completely memorised word by word for Thursday 10th January 2008. I know music isn't a core subject, but I really wanna do well in it because my teacher might start saying things about disappointment. But I know I will be disappointed. I wanna do well in ALL my exams!! My science teacher has left the school at Christmas, so we will get a new teacher in January. I got 100 in my last science exam so to suddenly do so badly in the next one will be very very very bad! Not to mention if I get bad results OR someone else beats me in the exam and i don't get the highest result, i will get grounded! And very very badly told off..As i said, I wanna do well, but I also NEED to do well. It's all for the report that will be sent off to Qatar so I can get into a good school!
Maths:I'm quite confident on my Maths as I know most of my methods.
Science: I need to go over my notes.
English: *burst into tears* Why am I tortured by having to study this horrible subject with a horrible teacher??? I have to write so many stuff for this exam. I know what i have to do, but it's so torturing!!! :( :( :(
History: Need revision of notes a lot! But when I say go over notes, I only read over them. I can't, i simply can't write all my notes out!
Geography: I don't think much revision is needed for this. The only thing I'm gonna do is read through my book.
ICT: No revision. But she said it's something to do with Publisher, so if i have spare time I will practise. How do you practise using Publisher i wonder...*wonders*
RE: Eek..this subject also requires essays in the exam. And you know what? This teacher is very close friends with my English teacher. *GRR* I have to revise and write out these notes I think.
French: I got 100 in this last time, so I wanna do really well and get 100 again. I have a feeling I won't but I'm gonna try! Just need to go over everything. Not much notes anyway. Most of the stuff is in my head already.
Music: Oooh...this subject takes only 2 out of my 45 lessons a week, but I am determined to do really well on this like i said before. These notes take a big part of my brain! Cos i wanna learn it word for word. On Mozart and his work: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik- Romanze. Need to learn 2 pages of notes, and then revise over remaining 2.
Spanish: I prefer French over Spanish cos i think spanish is hard. But we haven't learnt that much this term, so I think it'll be ok if i just look through my spanish book and textbook.

AHHHH! 10 exams. Torture! Sorry for boring all you lot to death talking about my exams. I am quite scared cos I MUST get the top in the class and good results. To me, good results are above 90. Exception: English- above 80. :P To the rest of the class(except some people), good results are above 70. *GIANT HUMONGOUS SIGH*

I might not be blogging that much soon...........If you read what I wrote, it's obvious why. T_T

We went to Leeds Castle today! No pics because they're all on the other laptop. muahaha..I gave lots of lectures about Henry VIII and his wives to Lynna and my mum though..

I got a sim card that Sherp signed up for. It's a network called Blyk. It's entirely free for everything, but the catch is that they will send sponsored texts to you.

We went to Belgium on Sunday and returned on Wednesday. I would say that Belgium isn't exactly my setting. But on Sunday, we just went to the city centre and shops. But no shopping. :P After that, just returned to hotel and shower, eat noodles and play Scrabble. I got 2nd haha..On Monday, we went to the same shops and this time, to a mall called City2. Tuesday: we went on a tour on a bus to Ghent and Brugge. Wednesday: same shops and City2. haha..I got a new sweater-dress-top kind of top. Don't know how to describe. But here's a pic.

It's supposed to be long, and under the waist and then wear with jeans... :D!! And also, we did buy lots of other stuff: sweets and chocolates! After all, Belgium chocolate, famous chocs!

Haih..*sigh*! I have such short posts! Anyone please?? Give me some comments on how you write long posts- ahem ahem- Jas and LynnXuan and LynnWei and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I complain too much, but my blog is kind of boring...................even though no one told me it is, I can tell by the way I write my blog. Haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiih.......
